KATSEYE – the first-ever global girl group formed using KPOP artist development methodologies – is “out to change the look and sound of modern pop as we know it,” as Vogue recently noted. Ranging in age from 16 to 22 and coming from immensely different cultures, the six members of KATSEYE are: DANIELA (Atlanta, GA USA); LARA (Los Angeles, CA USA); MANON (Zurich, Switzerland); MEGAN (Honolulu, HI USA); SOPHIA (Manila, Philippines); and YOONCHAE (Seoul, South Korea); PEOPLE declared, “Feminine, powerful and unique is the only way to describe the hot new girl group that is KATSEYE.”

Their name is a fitting one. A cat’s eye is a gemstone stone that radiates a variety of colors, depending on the direction from which it’s viewed – much like the group’s members. Each exudes her own distinct aesthetic and talents. Hailing from six different cities across three continents, this diverse group is united as one in KATSEYE, glowing powerfully together.

Now based in Los Angeles, KATSEYE’s members emerged from 120,000 submissions that were winnowed down to a field of 20 contestants who participated in The Dream Academy, an intensive program developed jointly by HYBE and GEFFEN. Fans got to know the young women over the course of the 2023 audition program, which was seen on YouTube, Weverse and ABEMA (Japan).

KATSEYE will release their first single soon, with more music to follow in 2024. The years-long process of creating this one-of-a-kind international girl group will be the subject of an upcoming Netflix documentary series, directed by Nadia Hallgren (Becoming). Produced by HYBE, Interscope Films and Boardwalk Pictures, the series will premiere in Summer 2024.
